FL School Choice and Parental Rights Strongest in Nation, Says Moms For America
Leading group for moms helped secure parental rights and religious liberties in bill passed today
March 23, 2023 – Today, the Florida legislature passed landmark legislation protecting school choice and parental rights, which are now the strongest in the nation, according to Moms For America, the leading national advocacy group for moms.
Moms For America played a pivotal role in securing critical protections for parental rights and religious liberties. The bill will benefit 3.5 million children and includes a variety of options to accommodate the needs of all Florida families, offering them an alternative to failing neighborhood schools.
“Our topmost priority was to safeguard parental rights and religious liberties for homeschooling and private Christian educational institutions – both of which are under attack by politicians and union bosses all over the country,” said Rebekah Ricks, President of Florida Moms for America. “Our legislators took extra measures to hear and address our concerns by ensuring that our rights are explicitly outlined.”
“Florida is taking the lead in ensuring that parents have the freedom to select what is most appropriate for their individual children,” said Kimberly Fletcher, Founder, President and CEO of Moms For America. “Recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting, schooling, or children, Florida will now provide options for tailoring educational methods to match each child's learning style and unique requirements.”
